Lane Mitchell (July 11, 1907 in Atlanta, Georgia – December 4, 1988) was a ceramic engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the head (and founder) of the Department of Ceramic Engineering there, now known as Georgia Tech's School of Materials Science and Engineering.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The History of Materials at Georgia Tech ) 〕 ==Education== Born in Atlanta, Mitchell attended the Georgia Institute of Technology (1925-1929), receiving his Bachelor of Science in 1929.〔 He then attended the University of Illinois (1929-1931) for a Master of Science.〔 He then attended Rutgers University from 1931 to 1932, but transferred to Emory University.〔
